Alfredo Ramirez, President and CEO
Alfredo Ramirez is a seasoned entrepreneur with direct experience in building early-stage software technology companies with a customer-centric approach. Alfredo oversees all of Vyopta’s operations from strategic direction, product planning and development, customer services to finance. Prior to Vyopta, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Reddwerks Corporation, an enterprise software company. He had previously co-founded Vitalz (a venture backed enterprise software company acquired by Oracle) and Daman Consulting (provider of application integration and business intelligence software solutions) and held positions at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and Trilogy Software. Alfredo holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Rick Leung, Vice President - Development and CTO
Rick is an experienced software entrepreneur and software technologist. He is responsible for leading all aspects of product strategy, software development, and delivery of Vyopta’s software product portfolio. Prior to joining Vyopta, Mr. Leung worked as a consultant serving Fortune 500 clients such as Nationwide Insurance, AmeriSourceBergen and Eli Lilly. Rick has a B.S. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
Andrew Chen, Vice President - Operations and General Counsel
Andrew is responsible for all legal and contract matters and general operations of Vyopta. Prior to Vyopta, Andrew served in legal and executive capacities at two emerging growth software companies. He has practiced as a corporate attorney at international law firms such as Baker Botts LLP and Gray Cary (DLA Piper) where he served as legal counsel to emerging growth and Fortune 500 companies on matters such as Mergers and Acquisitions, equity and debt financings and securities law. Andrew received his B.A. in Political Science and Policy Studies at Rice University and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School
Al Burns, Vice President – Finance
Al heads up Vyopta’s finance and accounting department and is a Certified Public Accountant. He was previously the CFO at C Faulkner Engineering, LP – an engineering firm supporting the telecommunications industry – and a controller at a number of high-tech companies, such as Vitalz and Daman Consulting. He has a strong background in finance, accounting and administration (including human resources) and has vast experience with process and controls. Al received his B.B.A. in Marketing and Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Ed Ellett, Board Director
Ed is a seasoned senior executive with extensive expertise in marketing and product strategy and sales channel development. He was most recently Senior Vice President and General Manager of Polycom’s Video Communications Division. Previously, Ed was Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit and the former Vice President and General Manager of Compaq’s Workstation Division. Ed holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and attended Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School and The University of Texas at Austin.
