As predicted, THWACKcamp 2016 was the best yet for SolarWinds THWACK Community. One of Vyopta’s very own, Robert Hock, was invited to lead a session titled, “Making Monitoring a Priority (Outside of Your Team).” Having spent years in the trenches as an IT/Network, Hock has remarkably advanced in his career to become Director of Product Management here at Vyopta. Although there is no doubt Hock is incredibly bright and well versed in the world of network monitoring, his success has been attributed to his rare ability to “speak the language.”

quote-blue

“…you were a superstar in IT here at SolarWinds for a long time and then you left and became the Director of IT for SpareFoot. What was interesting about that was you went from being in IT and products over to the other side of being an executive who had to juggle all the technology decisions for technology buying, manage the teams and then translate all that into something the C-level executives could understand.”

Vyopta + SolarWinds Network Monitoring Session

Hock was welcomed back with open arms to participant in THWACKcamp due to his knowledge, unique skill-set, sense of humor, and for leading the charge on Vyopta’s latest integration with SolarWinds® Network Performance Monitor (NPM). This integration allows for IT teams to monitor, receive custom alerts, and diagnose end-to-end video call issues through Vyopta and identify whether it is a network problem or a video device problem. In one click, users can access to NPM from every video endpoint, diagnose, and fix the issue if it is a network problem.

Needless to say, session attendees were not only pleased with Hock’s presentation, but several had their hair blown back by the integrations capabilities.

THWACKcamp 2016 Recap

The energy on set and via chat was infectious and non-stop. We were blog away by the caliber of chatter, networking, sharing of first-hand knowledge, and jokes. There was a true “meeting-of-the-minds” mentality, and all perspectives and individuals were welcome. The best part was, ~6,000 people were tuned-in digitally over the course of two full days.

In short, we highly recommend attending next year.
