Google announces their Network Connectivity Center

Google has announced a new product, the Network Connection Center (NCC). NCC is described as a revolution in the simplification of on premises and cloud networking. This new product is an initiative to provide a single control panel for a company of any size to manage all of its networks globally. The Network Connection Center is said to effortlessly join together VPNs, partners and dedicated interconnects, as well as third-party routers and Software-Defined WANs, in order to optimize connectivity, reduce operational burden and minimize costs.

AT&T signs a 12-year contract with the US Treasury Department

AT&T has cemented a $231 million and 12-year contract with the US Treasury Department to modernize the agency’s voice and data networks and ensure cyber security protection. This agreement is part of the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) technology procurement program. Under the agreement, AT&T will work with the Treasury Department to modernize network services and support approximately 100,000 Treasury employees in approximately 700 different locations over the next 12 years. The purpose of the agreement is to facilitate the procurement of telecommunications and IT network equipment and services by federal agencies and to upgrade existing infrastructure.

Samsung to supply 5G network equipment to NTT Docomo

NTT Docomo has chosen Samsung to supply it with 5G network equipment, including O-RAN compliant solutions. The companies anticipate that this alliance will allow NTT Docomo to provide enriched 5G services to consumers, drive digital business transformation and improve services for the society at large. DOCOMO provides high-quality wireless network services to almost 82 million customers in Japan. Additionally, Samsung is a pioneer in the successful delivery of 5G end-to-end solutions, including chipsets, radios and core components, and this agreement will enable the South Korean company to strengthen its telecommunications presence.

Collaborative intelligence company Vyopta announced that it has added support for RingCentral Office Phone. RingCentral is a leading provider of cloud communications and collaboration solutions for businesses. Vyopta offers an intuitive, unified approach to collaborative service monitoring and analysis, including RingCentral’s voice calling processes. Vyopta’s support for RingCentral includes real-time data for RingCentral Office phone calls, automated proactive alerts for concurrent call usage, dial-outs and disconnection issues, isolated incident and system issue visibility for faster troubleshooting, useful insights for tracking audio usage across hard and soft phones, as well as utilization information on a per-customer basis.

Orange Labs adds insights into 6G technology

During Orange’s 2021 Research Exhibition, Eric Hardouin, Vice President of ambient connectivity research at Orange Labs, offered some insights into the services that 6G technology can enable. Among the early ideas to be explored were advanced holograms and large-scale digital twin technologies. Current research should give the industry a good idea of the main technical capabilities of 6G. Holographic technologies offer possibilities for immersive telepresence services, and large-scale digital twinning technology could optimize urban operations for the benefit of citizens.
