HP and Poly Solutions have announced the Poly Lens App and two Poly Studio Base Rooms Kits for Microsoft Teams on Windows.

It describes the Poly Lens app as a “game-changing” solution that streamlines device management and enhances end-user experience.

Meanwhile, the Poly Studio Rooms Kits, which come with a Poly GC8 touch control panel and HP Mini Conferencing PC, are designed to improve collaboration in hybrid working.

Andy Rhodes, Division President, HP Hybrid Systems introduced the new solutions in HP’s press centre:

“Today, we’re excited to announce the new Poly Lens App for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows, a game-changing solution that streamlines device management and boosts end-user experience.

“We’re also introducing two new flexible Poly Studio Base Room Kits for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows, and an array of newly certified devices for Microsoft Teams, reinforcing our commitment to enhancing collaboration, regardless of where you work.”

HP believes these solutions will help to bridge the gap between employee expectations and experiences.

To demonstrate this, the multinational tech company cited its Work Relationship Index, which found only 27 percent of knowledge workers feel they have the right tools and equipment to achieve successful outcomes, despite the fact that 76 percent perceive them to be essential. Furthermore, only 25 percent of knowledge workers think that their company will implement the necessary technology to effectively support hybrid work.

Poly Lens Room App

The Poly Lens Rooms App for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows provides monitoring and management tools via the Poly Lens Cloud Admin portal. It offers IT teams a centralised view of their Microsoft Teams Rooms collaboration systems.

The app also delivers insights into video, voice, and HP computing for Microsoft Teams Rooms devices, significantly improving IT efficiency and end-user experience.

Poly Lens was first launched at ISE in 2020, which included their Poly Studio X range for small to large meeting rooms.

Since then, the Poly Lens range has grown with several new additions, updates, support, and fixes.

In June, Poly revealed at InfoComm 2023 that it had Poly has increased its API integration partners with Ubiqisense and Vyopta to provide customer insights for the Poly Studio X30 and Studio X50 video bars.

Ubiqisense offers insights into room occupancy, usage, and footfall on office floors, open spaces, meeting rooms, and shared desks.

Vyopta provides insights on space usage, unified communications device monitoring, troubleshooting, and meeting analytics.

The Poly App is expected to be available in December to Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows users around the world without any further cost.

Poly Studio Base Room Kits

Poly is expanding its solutions suite by implementing an alternative means of customising USB-based meeting rooms to satisfy the growing demands for flexibility. The Poly Studio Base Room Kits for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows can offer organisations with what HP calls “comprehensive room solutions” for meeting spaces of any size.

They include an HP collaboration PC and a USB touch controller, but audio and video equipment, such as video bars, are sold separately.

The two room kits can be paired with USB video conferencing solutions, like the Poly Studio USB, P15, R30 video bars, and E70 camera.

The new kits became available on November 15 with resellers in select regions worldwide.

Teams Certifications

Poly has now accumulated a long list of Microsoft Teams-certified devices, some of which were announced earlier this year, including the Poly Studio X52, Poly TC10, Poly Voyager Surround 80 and 85 UC headsets, HP 435 FHD Webcam, HP 625 FHD Webcam, and the HP 965 4K Streaming Webcam.

HP Presence and Poly combine their collaborative technology through ‘HP and Poly Collaboration Solutions’. Following HP’s $3.3 billion acquisition of Poly last year, HP and Poly employees were officially merged.
