Alfredo's Bio

Alfredo Ramirez is a seasoned entrepreneur with direct experience in building early-stage software technology companies.

Prior to Vyopta, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Reddwerks Corporation, an enterprise software company. He had previously co-founded Vitalz (a venture backed enterprise software company acquired by Oracle) and Daman Consulting (provider of application integration and business intelligence software solutions) and held positions at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and Trilogy Software.

Alfredo holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Brett Panter

Brett's Bio

After spending the first nine years of his career in public accounting, Brett made the move to industry where he has spent the last 17 as a finance executive for early-stage, high-growth technology companies.

He was most recently Chief Financial Officer at Innography, a leading SaaS analytics business for intellectual property that sold to CPA Global in 2015. Brett stayed on as part of the local management team for two years, when they were acquired by Leonard Green. Prior to Innography, Brett was Chief Financial Officer for NetQoS, a high growth enterprise software business that sold to CA Technologies in 2009.

Brett received his B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas in Arlington.

Subo Guha

Subo's Bio

Subo Guha is currently VP Product & Strategy at Vyopta Inc. Subo is responsible for Product and Partner Strategy & Product Management for Vyopta’s line of Unified Communications Analytics and Management platform solutions.

Subo has served in various executive roles for the past 25 years in the areas of SaaS, IoT, AI, Analytics, Cloud, Automation, Virtualization, Performance & Systems Management and Server technologies at CA Technologies, Dell, Unitrends, NCR,Egenera and Pitney Bowes. Before joining Vyopta Subo was VP / GM of Pitney Bowes SMB solutions in the areas of SaaS, IoT and new partner program ecosystem and marketplace development. Prior to that Subo was VP of Product at Unitrends and had responsibility of entire portfolio of Disaster Recovery solutions and developed the Cloud based DR as a Service offer.

Prior to Unitrends Subo was Vice President for CA Technologies Cloud Solutions and was instrumental in driving to a #1 rank in Cloud Systems management. Subo was the Sr. Vice President at Egenera Inc, a data center automation company, and driving all industry partnerships and ecosystem development.

Prior to that Subo was an executive at Dell for 10 years and was part of the original server team that helped propel Dell into #1 market share in servers as a startup division. Subo was responsible for the global Virtualization and Systems Management business at Dell and was tasked to rebuild the Software focus and helped drive new solutions businesses in virtualization, HPC, database, security etc.

Subo Guha has a Ph.D in Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business. He holds a Masters and Bachelors degree in Engineering and received his Bachelors from the Indian Institute of Technology. He has over 16 major publications in esteemed MIS journals including a book chapter.

Ruston's Bio

Ruston Vickers brings more than 20 years of extensive experience leading startup, as well as, large mature software development teams. He has created enterprise software solutions used by many of the largest global brands. Ruston founded and served as CTO of ITKO, Inc. developing solutions in the distributed application space. The product suite created a new market category called Service Virtualization leading to the company’s acquisition by CA Technologies in 2011.

Ivan's Bio

Ivan is an experienced technology executive responsible for leading Vyopta’s marketing and business development functions.

Prior to Vyopta, Ivan was a General Manager and Vice President at Teachscape, a leading provider of Teacher evaluation and professional development software. Ivan also served as VP of Marketing at Meraki, a venture-backed wireless networking startup that was sold to Cisco. Earlier in his career, Ivan led marketing for the local search and communications business units of Yahoo!, channel marketing at Covad Communications, and worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Ivan holds an M.B.A. and M.A. in Education from Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.

Joe Lohmeier

Joe's Bio

With over 20 years of sales experience in technology, Joe is responsible for driving revenue for all of Vyopta’s solutions.

Prior to joining Vyopta, Lohmeier has held numerous executive leadership positions with industry leaders such as VMware, Cisco, Proofpoint and Avaya.

In his 13 year career at Cisco, Joe transformed the inside sales team from 40 to 240 employees and over $500M in revenue before leading strategy as Director for Cisco’s $5B commercial market.

Joe brings a wide range of sales leadership experience that spans direct, indirect sales and sales operations, earning several awards throughout his career for his leadership and accomplishments including CRN Magazine’s Global Channel Chief of the Year and ranking #20 of 100 Executives in Technology by CRN Magazine.

Throughout his career, Joe has demonstrated this unique ability to drive a metrics-run business, fuel growth, build sales cadence, create highly motivated teams and transform organizations.

Lohmeier holds a Bachelor degree from The University of Arizona.

Rick's Bio

Rick is an experienced software entrepreneur and software technologist. He is responsible for leading all aspects of product strategy, software development, and delivery of Vyopta’s software product portfolio.

Prior to joining Vyopta, Mr. Leung worked as a consultant serving Fortune 500 clients such as Nationwide Insurance, AmeriSourceBergen and Eli Lilly. Rick has a B.S. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin.

Andrew Chen

Andrew's Bio

Co-Founder and VP of Operations and General Counsel

Andrew is responsible for all legal and contract matters and general operations of Vyopta.

Prior to Vyopta, Andrew served in legal and executive capacities at two emerging growth software companies. He has practiced as a corporate attorney at international law firms such as Baker Botts L.L.P. and Gray Cary (DLA Piper) where he served as legal counsel to emerging growth and Fortune 500 companies on matters such as Mergers and Acquisitions, equity and debt financings and securities law.

Andrew received his B.A. in Political Science and Policy Studies at Rice University and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.

Chris's Bio

Chris Pacitti, founding partner of Elsewhere Partners, has more than 20 years of experience in venture capital investing. He founded Elsewhere Partners to invest in growth-stage software and cloud companies. He remains a General partner at Austin Ventures where he manages part of the existing portfolio.

Chris joined Austin Ventures in 1999 where his investment focus was primarily on early-stage technology companies in the software and Internet sectors. Chris started his venture career in 1995 with TL Ventures, where he was a VP and also focused on early-stage technology investing. Prior to TL Ventures, Chris was a Co-Founder and COO of a technology start-up company that pioneered several industrial applications for a novel oxidizing chemistry.

Chris received his BA in Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He previously served on the Boards of Directors for the Microsoft Venture Capital Advisory group and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas.

Mark McClain

Mark's Bio

In his role on the Vyopta board of directors, Mark brings over 20 years of experience developing and leading innovative technology companies. Under Mark’s direction, SailPoint has grown from a collection of fresh ideas into a publicly recognized leader in the identity management software market. Mark directs and drives the overall vision and strategy for SailPoint, which is underpinned by his commitment and passion for building top-performing teams, creating a collaborative and innovative work environment, and focusing continuously on the needs of customers.

Teaming is a concept that Mark promotes throughout the company: teaming with forward-thinking customers to understand their needs, with partners to ensure customer success, and ultimately within SailPoint to develop innovative, market-leading solutions. Mark is passionate about maintaining the spirit of teamwork even as SailPoint grows its employee base and its global presence to offices around the world.

Mark has a successful track record building and growing ground-breaking identity management companies. In 2000, he founded Waveset Technologies. In its first three years, Waveset experienced rapid growth under Mark’s leadership, with revenue growth of 250 percent year over year. His leadership quickly took the company from small start-up to industry leader, ultimately leading to its acquisition in 2003 by Sun Microsystems, where Mark served as vice president of software marketing. Mark’s career also includes diverse experience in international sales and marketing with Hewlett-Packard and IBM/Tivoli Systems.

Rita Selvaggi
CMO, Alienvault

Rita's Bio

Rita Selvaggi has been active in the high tech industry for over 25 years. She is currently CMO of Silicon Valley-based security software provider AlienVault.

From 2006 through 2010, she was Senior Vice President of Marketing for SolarWinds (NYSE: SWI), a leader in the IT management software industry that went public in May 2009. At SolarWinds, Rita served as a member of the senior executive team that built the company’s disruptive model for high volume and velocity sales to IT professionals in mid-market enterprises.

Prior to joining SolarWinds, Rita was Vice President, Corporate Development at Blue Coat Systems, a provider of hardware proxy appliances for corporate networks and served as Vice President, Marketing and Business Development at Permeo Technologies, Inc, a network security software company, from January 2004 until its acquisition by Blue Coat Systems in March 2006. Prior to Permeo, Rita held executive and leadership positions at 724 Solutions, pcOrder and IBM. Rita holds a BA from the University of Delaware and an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin.

Mike's Bio

Mike Bennett is a 30-year veteran in the network and systems management industry with expertise in accelerating growth in early stage and public technology businesses, and building organizations that distinguish themselves in tough, competitive environments.

A seven-time CEO, Mike most recently served as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of SolarWinds, a developer and marketer of network, applications, virtualization and storage management software. As CEO, Mike took SolarWinds public in 2009 and the company quickly achieved over $2 billion dollar market cap under his leadership. SWI continues to be one of the most successful IPOs since 2009 based upon the ‘SolarWinds Model,’ which was pioneered under his leadership, and has led to the rapid consumerization of IT across the software industry.

Prior to joining SolarWinds in September 2006, Mike served as President and CEO of Permeo Technologies Inc., a leading provider of on-demand information security solutions, from March 2004 until its acquisition by Blue Coat Systems in April 2006. He previously served as CEO of Mission Critical Software where he led the company through its IPO in 1999 and subsequent merger with NetIQ Corporation. Mike also co-founded AlterPoint in 2001, a leading provider of intelligent network change and configuration management solutions.

He is a two-time recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2000 and 2010.

Josh Stephens
Founder, Bearded Dog

Josh's Bio

Josh Stephens has been active in the high tech industry for over 20 years. He recently founded Bearded Dog, a consulting firm in Austin Texas focused on assisting technology companies with M&A and strategy. He also founded and operated Southpark Pediatrics, a boutique medical practice focused on pairing advances in medical technology with special needs children. Josh recently served as the Chief Strategy Officer for Idera Software, a leader in IT management solutions, in Houston Texas which was an Austin Ventures funded company that was acquired by TA & Associates in August of 2014.

Josh was one of the original innovators and early executive team members at SolarWinds which went public in 2009. Josh led many parts of the organization during his long tenure there, culminating in his role as the vice president of technology and original head geek. Prior to SolarWinds Josh worked as a Managing Director at International Network Services (INS), which went public in 1996 and then sold to Lucent Technologies in 1999. INS was a leader in top-tier network engineering and IT management consulting services.

Prior to INS Josh served as an active duty Airman in the U. S. Air Force where he received multiple commendations and awards including the Air Force Commendation Medal and Airman of the Year and helped lead some of the Air Force’s key technical advancements during that time period. Josh attended several different colleges while serving in the military and afterwards, finishing at Arkansas State University in Computer Information Systems.

Patrick Drew
Director, 09 Solutions

Patrick's Bio

Patrick’s experience spans more than twenty years, including executive and entrepreneurial roles at Accenture, Trilogy Development Group, and i2 Technologies. Most recently, he has been an active angel investor in the Austin area.

In the course of his 10 years at Accenture, Patrick collaborated with a number of global clients, driving the implementation of new technologies into large corporate environments. Straight out of Silicon Valley startups, these new technologies later inspired Patrick to join Trilogy as VP of Client Services. As employee 13 at Trilogy, Patrick helped grow the company to approximately 100 employees while dramatically improving profitability for the group.

Patrick later joined i2 Technologies as employee 21, holding a variety of posts in a 9-year period. i2 rapidly grew to 5000 employees, approximately $1 billion in annual revenue, and went public – all while redefining the supply-chain management space globally. Patrick’s responsibilities at i2 included driving sales expansion into new industry and geographic markets and, later, leading the High-Tech Business Unit in Central Europe.

Patrick’s recent angel investments include BME – an orthopedic implant startup in San Antonio, Challenge Games in Austin (recently sold to Zynga), and Hellfire Games which recently released Novus Prime for the Sony PlayStation.

Patrick received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his family have lived in Austin for the past 15 years. In his free time, Patrick enjoys playing tennis and flying a Pilatus PC-12.

Dan Keelan

Dan's Bio

Dan is an experienced executive, entrepreneur and investor. Over the course of his 25-year career, Dan has held a variety of posts ranging from field sales to Chief Executive Officer, playing an important role in the success of companies such as IBM, Oracle, i2 Technologies, and Formation Systems. Dan’s perspective is truly global, having lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

In addition to a strong record of corporate accomplishments, Dan is an experienced entrepreneur, beginning with the operation of Catalysts Computers (Computer Sales), Wix Technologies (Sports Apparel) and Next Step Capital Partners (Revshare Investing). For the last several years, Dan has assisted a number of companies in growing and maturing their business including: Accuwater, BizGreet, Walters Bay Tea, Challenge Games, Atonometrics, Hellfire Games, DBI Software, FlowBelow and Vyopta.

Dan’s belief that everyone is entitled to an excellent education has led him to serve on the Board of Directors for KIPP Austin Public Schools and found the Future Focus Internship Program. Since 2011 Future Focus has arranged more than 150 full time, paid, professional summer internships for KIPP graduates who are pursuing a college degree.
