Vyopta Offers Expanded Support For Video Endpoint Problems

As workers start to return to the office gradually as companies adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic, Vyopta’s recently announced support for the newest of Poly’s video endpoints presents an opportunity for companies to address difficulties and video endpoint problems as those pieces of equipment have become more important than ever.

As one of the top makers of endpoints, with concentrations in the telehealth and remote learning verticals, organizations across the globe are now relying more than ever on Poly’s equipment to facilitate classes and consultations that meet social distancing requirements. The growing reliance on remote collaboration via video meetings means enterprise companies are having to address video endpoint problems that Vyopta’s comprehensive data and analytics can help remedy.

Jaiganesh Lakshmisundaram, a product manager for Vyopta, said video endpoint problems across all makers include:

  • An inability to make or receive calls from a conference room
  • Difficulty joining a meeting because of touch panel problems
  • A black screen appearing in place of a meeting participant
  • Inability to see a video when joining from a conference room
  • Choppy or delayed video when others speak

The quality data Vyopta is able to extract for the originator and participants of a meeting makes it possible for unified communications and IT teams to quickly pinpoint the cause of a problem involving any endpoint, and make the appropriate fixes to keep meetings productive.

The support Vyopta has rolled out for Poly’s latest generation of devices – the Studio X Series (X30 and X50) and G7500 room systems – provides detailed real-time metrics to proactively detect and quickly troubleshoot issues in order to minimize or eliminate disruption of critical meetings, distance learning classes, and telehealth patient visits. That data coverage extends to external cameras, touch panels, displays, and microphones, along with call quality data from endpoints and infrastructure such as call control, bridges and edge gateways and UC cloud services.

Lakshmisundaram said Vyopta’s vendor agnostic data is more valuable than ever since multivendor environments are becoming more common as more unified communications as a service competitors enter the quickly growing marketplace.

“Poly announced their latest new generation of endpoints back in late 2019 and early 2020 and so we have now added support for those new endpoints,” he said. “Poly is one of the top vendors in this space and they are focused on building endpoints that are vendor agnostic and can natively register other UCaaS platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.”
